Most houses in Spring and Houston, Texas, have 20 to 25 interior doors that require paint spraying. We will use the homeowner’s garage for my setup for spraying the interior doors.
We start by masking off the floor and garage area. Then it takes us on average 3 hours to fully spray paint both sides of 21 doors. Sometimes we will spray offsite.
However, our experience demonstrates a higher level of quality control when we complete this task on site versus risking scuffing up the fresh paint during transport of the doors. Need more information?

Love your videos! Thanks for all these great tips and skills you are sharing!
I place them in angle like making a V with enough space to walk, i painted 18 doors in a one car garage, 2 coats, i sanded the sides really well and pray them very careful, it may be easier to roll them, some needed 2 coats of primer 2 coats of paint, did the painting same day, not bragging, actually stole that idea from some other video here in youtube, i do not use extensions for my gun, but that’s just optional, great job, i enjoy your wood working videos too
That tip is massive! 515? Try going down to a 310 or 410 at the BIGGEST. You’re on the right track with your setup, but think about that overspray! If the doors behind the one you are spraying are already finished, you are going to end up with a sandpaper-like finish. Watch that overspray!
Just wondering why you painted the hinges?
my husband did the same thing and it works great thank you for your time and video.
What brand of paint do you use?
Good brush man can paint a door in 6 minutes leaves a better finish too. Time it takes to prep that up remove & reattach the doors & hardware doesn’t add up….I appreciate the workmanship and thought process.
Nice work!
you should consider using a smaller tip like a 308, 515 is way to big for doors, you’ll end up saving more paint
Man you look like you are turning such a simple job into a massive one.Painting hinges is a no no unless you oil based undercoat them first with a can of primer, as soon as you hang them the paint will come off otherwise. Try taking them off ,doesn’t matter if they have paint on them, two wrongs dont make a right, easy enough to drop them in thinners for the night. Also that tip is way to big for doors, walls in acrylic maybe but gloss enamel ?
Ill watch a couple more of your videos and see how I’m feeling after that.
that was just latex you were spaying right???
bruh ………………………………………….
This is the video I made for you on glossing doors, enjoy.

Love this video man. Really like the way you hand the tension on the doors then brad nail.
I tried 413 tip for doors. Too much paint. I can’t even imagine a 515. I now use a RAC 310 tip and love it. Keep up the good work. I also want to thank you for your video on your invoicing next.waveapps.com. That Really,Really helped me man. I use it now.
315 green tip would’ve been better… too much overspray
Hey man, I know a lot of people are talking trash about the tip, but just keep on learning! I bet all of those trash talkers learned by trial too. Seriously though, you should check out the fine finish tips and tip housing. They have a blue guard instead of the orange and come with green tips. They are nice with a second filtration in the tip, and they come in smaller sizes. I personally like a 315 or 415 for doors, and I get all that from Sherwin Williams.
Love the videos! Was that sw pro classic enamel latex??
what about over spray going onto the door behind?
I would try to constructively teach a new way to plastic the ceiling, and how I stand up doors. Pre primed doors get prepped and reprimed and 2 top coats on a complete paint job.
I secure the middle of the plastic to the ceiling from the top side, as it goes up, and it doesn’t sag that way.
I think people said he was shooting Promar 400…how about SW waterbourne enamel?
HAVE NOT heard it addressed whether you paint the ends of the doors.
Most SIDE SWELLING of doors are at the UNPAINTED ends of doors.
This causes problems of BINDING and UNEVEN spacing around doors.
Went through the complete video but did not hear the brand of the sprayer. Is that a Grayco?
Great vid. How do you thin the paint
Are those 16″ doors? Where did you get them? I’m redoing my house due to Harvey and can not find that size with the arch anywhere in Houston.

is that oil base paint ?
This set up must take ages. I can paint a door with a brush and roller in 7 mins.
If your spraying the hinges why take the doors off
Thanks for making these videos. I keep a pen and paper handy to jot down all the tips. Only thing I would add to that system would be to spray the smaller doors first. Putting wider doors over the smaller limits the amount of overspray that could get on the doors you’ve already done. Great use of a small space!
Wow now you gotta carry compressor and nail gun??
515 tip geez!!
Spray outside fam, lay a tarp on the driveway
I started used the FFLP from Graco with a 516 on doors, the FFLP 208 on trim. Hardly any over spray and I leave my sprayer (Graco LTS17) on prime for the majority of all my painting now. You’ve helped me tremendously with all of your tips regarding molding, thought I’d share a tip (pun intended) with you! Happy new year!
What about the overspray on the doors behind the one you just sprayed???
The tip is not for fine finish , best tip I use for fine finish is 208 or 308 your tip is good for ceilings bro
I do doors like this quite a bit! Try out door-deckers if you get a chance. Super small footprint and you can do a TON of doors. Also, it’s impossible to sag them out so you can get 1 coat coverage fairly easy.
