Think you cannot paint? You can!
I created The Idaho Painter an alternative to to big box DIY video shows that have actors who only act like they can paint but really can barely act. My mission is to shatter the barriers of entry into painting and convince people that it can be a lot of fun painting and painting fun little projects on your own without an expensive professional painter. No experience is necessary.
I need your help to keep The Idaho Painter free videos running smoothly and not be so dependent upon, well me painting. If you have been inspired by even one of my videos, please consider a donation. Plus, check out the really cool tool store and gift shop I have on my website.

Good job man
Are you spraying in a methodical pattern?
Chris is FINE!!!!!
What is name of tool 610 or something and where do u get that from
I know I’ve left a LOT of comments on Chris’s videos, but his channel really is my “go to” when I am in a bind or I need help, it’s been the best discovery. Sure, there are other channels I look at too, but I’ve received 10 times more use from his videos…
I am planning to paint my house with a Graco X7 airless paint sprayer using Behr exterior latex. I also plan to use a 30″ extension. Will I need to dilute or filter the paint prior to painting? Or can I use it right from the can?
Coll Greetings from Germany
awesome skills man, I realy like your videos. Can you tell me what equipment you are using please?
Chris… Why didn’t you cover those bushes?
No stupid questions,or comments. I used to work for a contractor. Changed jobs. Still paint on the side. You knocked that out with the quickness, which can be done if the prep work is done right. Thanks for sharing the video!
I am a painter for 12 years and is very nice to be your professional work are professional .your .very good God bless you
my uncles been in buisness 30 yrs and has been a sprayman the whole time n he says its impossible to not get over spray on the bushes so he has us cover them…
When spraying those gable vents do you sheild behind there so paint doesnt get in the attic (if they are open vents) ?
Do you need to backroll Metal siding after spraying? I’m thinking about painting my home and want to know if it’s necessary to backroll after applying each coat of paint. Thanks!
Getting ready to paint exterior of a bldg. that has the rough, uneven (high/ sunken)spot bricks. Customer is getting the scissor power lift, materials, and electric paint sprayer set up. I noticed there are gas and electric versions of the sprayer machine… is one better than the other? Why? Does the longer the paint hose is matter in pressure at the end (spray) tip? Thanks… great video.
over spray on roof no Tarp
Hey bud, are you doing prep then right into one coat for the out side or are you doing two coats for exteriors? thanks again for awesome video
You got mad skills dude! Awesome job.
which one is a good exterior primer?
did you pressure wash that house before you started? how many gallons of paint did that house take? what did you charge him to meet that house?
Do the roof shingles/edging get messed up at all bouncing that ladder when you move it and then your weight on the spot it just hit down on? I’m thinking if they got up and checked I bet there would be indents everywhere that ladder hit…. I know I’ve accidentally made the exact marks I’m talking about on my own house and I didn’t bounce the ladder around like that either.. and like others have mentioned – no covers on the bushes… just saying that in case some guys think they can get up and haul ass like you but not as experienced- need to be careful about these things- just saying, but thanks for the video, I’ve learned a lot from you.
awesome Chris
Rock on Chris!
For the small gables I use a 6′ extension with a spray swivel on it and just climb on a step ladder it’s more easier
That bit where you climbed up to the roof…layed down, spun around…got up…and finished that triangle shaped area….you make it look easy. I would have been thinking about it for an hour. I have about 5 hours experience now. Any tips on remembering to keep that gun moving….i get some runs once in awhile…most in odd areas like corners/transitions. Or porch posts.
